An old New England thunder storm, partly clear but moist and warm Came on quick without a warning, so people might still be out this morning Think I’ll open We just got in the first strawberries. Sugar snap peas, I only picked what I could carry But the lettuces are sweet and we have all kinds of greens. I know it’s early in the season but we got just what you need. This shop in the front of our house, on the edge of our farm, open year round. In the dead of winter’s frozen ground, you will find our shelves abounding. Spring comes, bees hum, we open trees up, spill their guts, and pour them into boiling vats and get down to the essences. And like sugar sand in the syrup pan, Life demands we can’t completely make the sweets without some careful filtering. Things get wasted, sacrifices made, and that is why my baby is in our sugar bush today. Putting the stuff away. Cutting down trees in Maine. A couple California kids come in, wild as the west, waving around their cameras and asking questions. I’ll show you around the store and teach you what the syrup’s for, And if you listen to your mom, maybe I’ll take you on a farm tour. You make me want kids more. Now, Maple’s been a staple for a long long time. It’s got more minerals than honey and I prefer the flavour. Scientists can’t duplicate a taste that’s one of a kind So, while we got it, come and get yourself a little bit of nature YOU CAN POUR IT ON YOUR ICE CREAM. YOU CAN STIR IT IN YOUR COFFEE. It’s the number one sugar substitute in the world say the bakers and foodies and the fly farm girls. A list of antioxidants long enough to make one wish the food industrial complex would desist And promote the sweet sap from the old tree taps. Do not argue with these farm subsidies. It takes forty years for a tree to start giving and it’ll be still be giving after we’ve stopped living Now that’s a whole different thing than, season after season, killing off the crops for no reason So vote with your dollars, take a few jugs home, and just overdoes on syrup, leave the other drugs alone, kids. YOU CAN POUR IT ON YOUR ICE CREAM. YOU CAN STIR IT IN YOUR COFFEE.

about

Be Brave Bold Robot Sacramento

"BE BRAVE is the sort of band who make me reconsider throwing in the towel every time I listen to their inventive pop masterpiece ‘Take A Deep Breath’. There are few occasions when you hear a band for the first time and know implicitly that you are going to love everything that they do. This is one of those bands."
